In the Staff Week of 2016, I was one of eight employees from different teams across the Library that participated in “Your Human Library”.
For this staff week event, each of us was asked to talk about our role and responsibilities at the Library. We had also been asked to submit a few about ourselves, which then featured in a friendly trivia session with all library staff. The event was a unique way of highlighting how everyone brings something different to their teams and a rare opportunity to get to know a little bit more about what some of us do. I was happy to participate in this event, and was able to share my joy of working with maps, GIS, and data. I was also eager to speak about a few projects that I’ve had the pleasure to work on with my team at the Geographic, Statistical, and Government Information Centre (GSG). We are a close-knit unit and have all supported one another over the years.
