First and foremost, I am a father and a husband. My family is and will always be the most important thing in my life. Being a parent has been both the most challenging and the most rewarding experience of my life. It has also taught me several practical skills that can be applied in my professional life. For example, I’ve learned how to better plan and organize my time, how to be more patient, the value of making lists, and the art of negotiation! For fun, I am a big movie buff, and, as you will no doubt discover throughout this portfolio, I am a big fan of superhero films (look no further than my most recent blog post Want to Become a Better Librarian? Look No Further Than Marvel!). My wife and I also enjoy hosting our friends for board game nights, and this passion has again spilled over into my professional life by integrating learning concepts such as gamification in my instruction.

Outside of family life, I work as a Data Analyst at the University of Ottawa Library, where I have been for the past 5 years. I love my job and working in an academic library has been a wonderful experience so far. Every day, I feel like I get to help others do their work and contribute to fascinating research ongoing at the University. I have also been working toward my Master of Information Studies (MIS) since 2016. Although it has not always been easy to juggle work, school, and family life, my ultimate goal is to become an academic librarian which would open more doors for me to truly reach my potential as an information professional.
