My Skills

I bring strong communication skills developed through many years of experience in customer service, client relations, and team-based project work. As a project manager in my previous career, I collaborated closely with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver successful designs. I have also written a wide range of reports, including technical documentation and research-based analysis, which has strengthened my ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.

During my undergrad, I focused on historical and archaeological research, exploring diverse topics across different historical regions and eras. One project involved examining the funerary practices of 5th Century BCE Athenian Greeks through grave analysis, while another explored how ancient Greek religious beliefs were reflected in athleticism and competitive rituals. These early research experiences deepened my interest in history and taught me how to evaluate artifacts and draw meaning from limited or non-written resources.

This foundation in research and communication continues to guide my career. Whether I am analyzing a historical collection, presenting my findings, or writing, I am committed to clear and thoughtful communication.

I have a demonstrated ability to teach others as well, both as a teaching assistant in an architectural AutoCAD class, and as a student resource technician providing tutoring and mentorship. My ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively helps me to engage with diverse audiences, whether that is through academic writing, instructional settings, or professional presentations.

As for my technical expertise, I am proficient in working with design and drafting software such as AutoCAD and Revit, which aids me in being creative and solving technical issues with software. I completed many projects in these software’s during my time working as a Mechanical Designer. I also have experience working with AI software, and the full suite of Microsoft software including Excel and Microsoft Word. Microsoft PowerPoint is software I have used often to create slideshows for research presentations. I have also worked with programming languages during my time completing my masters degree, including SQL, Python, HTML, and XML which allow me to work with databases, automate tasks, and develop digital solutions. Additionally, I have experience working with cataloguing software such as OMEKA, OMNI, and OpenAlex. This experience gives me the skills to manage and structure digital collections efficiently. As part of the project to preserve and catalogue maquettes at the NAC I worked with OMEKA and I have use OMNI often to find research materials through the University of Ottawa Library.

The combination of these skills in technology, research, and communication enables me to contribute effectively across interdisciplinary projects.

During my work on the group project analyzing OpenAlex, I learned how to use information databases and classification systems, and how to evaluate the effectiveness of classification software. I also gained experience working with basic coding software such as python, and learning the basics of the different coding languages. A sample report created after work on a sample LLM coding project is linked below.
