Infographics at the ICC

Communications

As the Cataloguing and Classification Librarian at the Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC), I had the opportunity to create infographics for the ICC Archives Library. With the help of colleagues, I designed graphics made to ensure all stakeholders (ICC staff and all Inuit) are both able to find materials using the online catalogue, and are enthusiastic about the amazing collection!

One of the main challenges that all libraries face, especially institutional libraries, is making sure that patrons are aware that they exist and have useful resources. Infographics are one of the important ways that libraries can make a lasting impression on prospective users. Being able to make graphics that educate users about services is a crucial part of user services, and is part of how one’s work as a User Services Librarian is valuable around-the-clock.
