Hello and welcome!

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”

-Edgar Degas

My name is Bronwyn Carlyle, and I am a graduate student in the Master of Information Studies (MIS) program in the School of Information Studies (ÉSIS) at the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, ON, Canada. Pending the successful completion of the Winter 2025 semester, I will graduate after completing my degree part-time over the past four years and be able to take my next step into my career.

This i-Portfolio represents the culmination of my time in the MIS program, highlighting the knowledge and experience I have gained academically, professionally, and personally. My background in museums, administration, and libraries has provided me with a strong foundation in information management, collections stewardship, public engagement, and institutional operations. Through this program, I have further developed my expertise in organizing, preserving, and making information accessible within cultural and knowledge-based institutions.

As I approach graduation, I am excited to apply my skills in a professional setting and contribute to the evolving landscape of museums, galleries, and libraries. I am passionate about bridging information and cultural heritage to create engaging and meaningful experiences for diverse audiences.

Using the menu at the top of the page please enjoy exploring my LIS journey. To begin perhaps head to Biography to learn more about myself and where everything all began or Career Plan to see where I’d like to go!

Knowledge looks at some of my past projects and helps define my skills and competencies acquired throughout my life and time as a MIS student. Finally, last but certainly not least, the Values and Ethics helps provide insight into both the personal and professional ideals that helped guide me and continue to encourage me to achieve my wildest dreams in the world of information.
